Next Hamfest: We hope to visit the Toledo Hamfest and Computer Fair on March 21, 2010 at its new location at the Owens Community College on Oregon Road in Perrysburg.  More info at http://tmrahamradio.org.  We have attended this hamfest many years and it is one of our favorites.  New dial pointer: One of the many close-to-completion items is a new dial pointer for the regen receiver. New audio kit: Another project which has proven itself on the bench. New parts – modular printed circuit board with components, new speaker,  new switch,  (power supply option) new battery connector are all in stock.  Work remains on prototype front panel and the g assembly manual.  New octal base coil forms: Sitting next to me as I write this is one of our new octal base coil forms.  Plans are for both a 1  1/4 inch diameter and a 1  1/2 inch form. Again, we plan to offer these both as individual parts as well as incorporate into our forms.  Monthly email newsletter release:  In preparation now,  it should go to our customer base within the next few days.  Go to ‘contact us’ page to get on the list for the e-newsletter if you have not already done so.  When you contact us,  we usually send an acknowledging email within 24 hours.  Email pastimeprojects (at) yahoo.com  TNX es BCNU!  Glenn

Thank You Mansfield Ohio Hamfest

Yesterday, Sunday February 14, was the annual Mansfield Ohio Mid Winter Hamfest and Computer Show at the Richland County Fairgrounds. The event is sponsored by the (Mansfield area) Intercity Amateur Radio Club, Inc. The event contact person is Dean Wrasse KB8MG, and they can be reached at www.w8we.org  .  Mark it down for next year.

We were treated very well. The area where we were assigned was very nice.  The number of visitors seemed very large. I suspect folks are glad to  have an excuse to get out and away from the ‘cabin fever’.  We were between storms and weather was not a concern. The three buildings were well heated and very clean. Thanks to all for a great show.

Our products were well received, and we encouraged all to check out the www.pastimeprojects.com web site. We see a spike in site views this morning, so we must have new visitors to the web page. Welcome to all! Those who are familiar with our products were most encouraging and positive, and we appreciate the kind words.

Now back to work – Thanks to all!  Stay safe and stay warm!  Glenn NN8G pastimeprojects@yahoo.com

Busy, Busy

February 10, 2010

Reminder: The Mansfield Ohio Hamfest & Computer show is this Sunday February 14, 2010. Doors open 7am.  PastimeProjects will be at Tables A-4 and A-5,  near the front (rest room side) of Fairhaven Hall. Please stop by and say hi!  Need more info? see http://www.w8we.org .

We have added a direct link to Brian AF4K’s web page on our parts page near the crystals. Bry is THE place for crystals.  We have dealt with him for years, and he certainly has always treated us very well.  Give him a try if we  do not list the crystal you need.

We are working HARD on the new solid state amplifier kit, a new very well made speaker to match …made in USA… a  new combination power supply, amplifier, speaker kit , and a choice of buying parts or the package .  The parts for our manufacture of plug-in coil forms are arriving daily. We intend to add plug in coils and other updates to our regenerative receiver. Plug-in coils will be available for use on your own projects.
